Asrar takes over on art in this issue, something I’m very ok with. I enjoyed his work on the last run of All New X-Men and I think he handles the younger characters like Nova and Ms Marvel especially well. The newly crowned Avengers have assembled at an abandoned Stark Industries airfield, they certainly seem to be doing things on a budget this time around, which could prove interesting. A well contained, simple hit out against a no-name villain is on offer here, with the allusion of ties to a larger threat. Again, Waid works each of the characters well as individuals, with the exception of Thor. I know she didn’t have a whole lot of page time in the first arc, but the change in personality for this issue seemed very put on and forced. I honestly don’t see a whole lot of meaningful storytelling come from ‘the kiss’, but I’ve been surprised before
